For the kick-off of the FIFA World Cup in Russia, we added a World Cup widget powered by kicker online to Cliqz Tab. If you open a new tab in the Cliqz Browser for Windows and Mac, you will now see a soccer ball icon on the upper left. A click on it will give you a quick overview of the current schedule and the latest results. You can also follow the scores of current matches live – for example in the office or on the go.

In the group phase (June 14-28), the World Cup widget displays all matches of the day, the previous day and the following day on separate cards. If you hover over a card, it will be highlighted. The match overview contains all important information: kick-off times, groups, fixtures and results.

For the matches marked as “Live” you always get the current minute of play and the current result. The overview updates automatically every minute or when you click on the refresh button. If you select a game, you will be taken to the corresponding game page on with statistics, post-match analysis and further coverage.

At the start of the knockout phase on June 30th, the fixture schedule view changes to a tournament tree. All round of 16 matches, quarter-finals and semi-finals as well as the third-place play-off and the final are listed here – including kick-off times, play times and (live) results, of course.
