Cliqz Tab Statistics
Wherever you are going on the Internet: Cliqz protects your privacy. Our intelligent anti-tracking and ad-blocking technology prevents your personal information from being transferred to advertisers or other third parties when you visit a website. This way, trackers don’t stand a chance!
On Cliqz Tab you can view various statistics. They show the total number of ads blocked by Cliqz since the first browser start as well as how many private data points have been anonymized. You can also see the estimated total time you have saved by using Cliqz.
This number shows how many private data points Cliqz has removed since the first browser start to protect your personal data from being transmitted to third parties.
The Cliqz anti-tracking system is split into two subsystems. One blocks over 96% of third-party cookies, and the other handles all other data sent to third parties. The latter filters out data values that allow an identification of the user, overwrites them with a generic placeholder, and sends this information back to the trackers.
This method has the advantage over pure cookie blocking of reducing site breakage and working independently of the tracking method used. It also protects from fingerprinting and new tracking methods. Read more about our Anti-Tracking here. The different tacking methods are clearly explained here.
This number shows how many ads Cliqz has blocked in total since the first browser start.
With the ad blocker, you benefit from faster loading websites without ads and clutter. It also protects against stealthy cryptocurrency mining by preventing websites from secretly hijacking your computer’s resources.
If the ad blocker is turned off for all websites, the statistics for “Ads Blocked” are paused and grayed out until you turn it on.
Here’s how you turn on the ad blocker:
- Open the Control Center by clicking on the ‘Q’ icon to the right of the address bar.
- Make sure that the switch for “Ad-block” is set to “ON“.
This number shows how much time you saved in total since the first browser start by using the built-in ad blocker and Cliqz Quick Search.
In many cases, the quick search engine will get you faster to the desired result. Depending on the use case (history result, organic result, Smart Cliqz result) you save between 1 and 5 seconds compared to a conventional search engine results page. By using the quick search feature on a daily basis, you can save a lot of time!
